Welcome To Melbourne

Melbourne's unique skyline.

A dynamic, exciting city where modern architecture and innovative design are juxtaposed with heritage buildings reflecting Australia's colonial history.

Melbourne captures Australia's friendly nature but with an added sense of style.

  • Melbourne is Australia's fashion capital, the cultural events heartland, and a city passionate about sport, especially Australian Rules football and cricket.
  • Take in 360 degree views of the city form the Eureka Tower's new Observation Deck. Located 285 meters above the ground, the Deck is the highest public vantage point in Melbourne.
  • Take a stroll through the city's many laneways to discover cafés and bars, fashion houses, boutiques, delicious cuisine, galleries, theatres and museums.
  • Musicians, actors, dancers and entertainers provide ample opportunities to take in a show at an historic theatre, a club or a pub, or on the street.
  • Melbourne has preserved a strong sense of history with car-free pedestrian arcades, grand public buildings, historic parks, and tree lined streets. The city's main shopping precincts are close together and offer a bountiful mix of big fashion and unique finds.
